Gym Life: Take Two

So, I’m officially starting my journey to get back into the gym! I used to be really consistent—hitting the gym a few times a week after work was my thing. But then…I moved. At first, I tried going to a gym that was closer to my new place, but honestly, I completely fell off. For one, everyone and their mom seemed to go there right after work. But the real issue? The gym was tiny, always packed, and that kind of killed my vibe.I kept telling myself I’d go back, but I couldn’t push myself. After a long day at work, the gym was the last thing I wanted to think about. So, I stopped going. And here we are… two years later.

Lately, I’ve been trying to stay active at home—YouTube workouts, stretching, going on walks—but I realized I really miss the gym environment. There's just something about being in that space that gives me motivation. So I figured, why not give the gym in my neighborhood a try just to get my rhythm back. And wow—I’m so glad I did, it felt so good! I forgot how much I actually enjoy using the machines and just being in the gym. I decided to turn it up a notch and go to a commercial gym again. This gym is way more spacious than the last one (huge win). I decided to go at night and I LOVED it. It wasn’t crowded, I got to try new machines without feeling rushed, and I didn’t have that weird feeling like everyone was watching me (which, let’s be real, is mostly in my head—but still).

So I’ll definitely be going back and I’ll be sharing the ups and downs of this new gym era. If you’ve got any tips that help with gym anxiety or just ways to stay motivated, drop them in the Share Your Thoughts box below! Don't forget to follow me on instagram @20something_reset.
